Spring Refresh Sew Along
Join us for a fun spring sew along and sew one of our most popular tops or a spring coat. This sew along will begin March 13th and run through the end of April, so you have plenty of time to make yourself a few terrific new tops and top them off with a great new coat!
When we opened our sew along request for patterns, we had overwhelming number of sewing friends who wanted to sew our customer favorite Princess Wrap Top. But we also had a bunch of our customers who wanted to sew our Travel Trio Three Banded Neck Tee, and a few who wanted to make our Easy Coat for Spring. Because we know spring is a time for refresh, in our wardrobes, you can choose to sew any or all of the featured patterns (all available at a special price now through April 30th)
How the Sew Along works:
We host Sew Alongs as Facebook Group events that are private. The event is hosted online and you can post photos of your progress garments and finished garments (and it's all private for group members only). You can log in any time and sew at your leisure, in the comfort of your own sewing room. You can get helpful tips and inspiration from your fellow group members, our moderators and Christine Jonson herself.
How to join:
Join our Facebook group here and watch for posts on the event. When you see the event post, "join" the event by selecting the "I'm going" and you'll receive updates on all posts related to that event. Share your photos from your smartphone or computer.
Our moderators sew the garments with you, providing videos and photos of construction tips so you can see how the garments come together. Christine provides occasional help on fitting as needed.
We'll follow this schedule:
- Week 1: Pattern purchase and fabric selection
- Week 2: Pattern fitting and cutting
- Weeks 3 and 4: Sewing, and sewing more! Photo sharing and discussion
You can post photos or ask questions any time of day or night in the Facebook group.
Princess Wrap Top
This is hands down, our customer favorite pattern. Year after year, sewists rank this high on PatternReview.com, and many, many Princess Wrap tops are sewn and loved. You'll love it too! We have a tutorial on how to raise the crossover V-neckline as well.
Banded Neck Tee
Part of our Travel Trio One pattern, this tee is your favorite basic - it's a shapely but not skin tight tee with an easy to sew, professional-looking banded neck. It's a terrific basic that can be made with long, 3/4 and elbow-length sleeves (with an optional banded-hem tutorial.)
Easy Coat
You can choose so many variations for the coat including lined or unlined, make it out of denim, canvas, coated cotton, coated linen, heavyweight linen, home decorating fabrics or even a rainwear supplex nylon. Christine loves to make this one unlined, by just serging the coat together, but there is an optional lining you can sew from fun, contrast fabrics. And it's all super EASY to sew. This knee-length (or maxi) coat is a coat even a beginner can make!
