Capsule Wardrobe for Travel
Sew a capsule wardrobe of 8 fall items that fit into a tiny suitcase.
No one ever returned from a trip saying “next time, I’ll pack heavier!” Sewing a capsule wardrobe of 8 mix and match items should be on every frequent sewing traveler’s list of things to do. And sewing a travel capsule wardrobe is one of the most delightful parts of planning a trip.
This fall to spring capsule wardrobe features 3 bottoms, two jackets, a sweater and two tops all fit into one suitcase, with room to spare for workout clothes, toiletries and shoes.
Check out the capsule wardrobe here.
In this video, we show you how, in one tiny suitcase - that you won’t have to ask the guy in 29E to put in the overhead for you - you can pack enough clothes to do a two-week business or casual wardrobe and feel perfectly at ease in almost any situation. This fall-winter-spring capsule can be extended by adding in a garment for the precise season you are traveling (e.g. a short sleeve top or two for a warmer shoulder season, or a heavier winter coat and boots for winter.) Mix in a few favorites from your closet like jeans and add in a workout outfit to round out the suitcase.
As one fellow traveler commented “We’ve been here a week and I feel like I’ve never seen you in the same outfit twice! And your suitcase is so tiny!” That’s high praise indeed.
