Sew an Easy Spring coat
Spring coats bring to mind rain jackets, bright print coats, and trench-style coats. The Christine Jonson Easy Coat is a knee or midi length coat with a full button front, patch pockets, and a tie belt. For spring, you can make the Christine Jonson Easy Coat in many fun fabrics:
Coated rain wear fabric. This coat is not suitable for oilskin type fabric, but will work in coated fabrics like supplex, coated linen and canvas
Canvas solids like yellow, periwinkle, red, green and navy
Canvas prints and stripes. Try a bright tropical print, a metallic linen
Neutral twill for a "trench" style coat, including tan and black
The Easy Coat can be made lined or unlined. The lined version looks great with a cotton print lining or a cotton flannel lining for cozy warmth. If you do line the coat, use a slippery lining fabric like rayon lining for the sleeves so your coat slips on and off easily.
