If this is compilation of sewing related articles is your first experience with Christine Jonson Patterns and CLOTHESLINE, I welcome you. This is my way of sewing, sharing simple construction techniques, offering uncomplicated and figure flattering designs and giving good decision making guidelines. Having fun and being comfortable with myself is what sewing brings to me, and I hope to you as well. Sewing is my Little Black Dress.
Being a professional pattern maker, couture dressmaker and owner of my own ready-to-wear clothing production company for well over 20 years I’ve learned what works. This hands-on book is my philosophy based on years of industrial production sewing. Home sewers have long been forced to struggled with over-complicated fitting and sewing techniques that lead to frustration and failure. Not to mention pattern sizing that does not translate to reality. It does not have to be this way. Learn about sewing in a new way. A new way that will yield positive results!
In addition to offering the actual tissue pattern measurements of my patterns, fabric stretch guides and countless articles and advice on the subject, I have put it all together in the Christine Jonson’s “Perfect Sizing” Worksheet, included here. It will become an invaluable tool for pairing fabric and pattern size. Taking the guesswork out of sizing and sewing your own clothes by calculating the ease and maximum stretch of a finished garment before you sew it is the key to a perfect fit. Have fun and sew more!
“Christine Jonson has successfully taken the fear out of working with knits. Not only that, this book tells you everything you need to know to make your knit garments look totally professional.”
